Your Workplace

The medical administration at the emergency department is part of the medical specialties area at Karlstad Central Hospital. Within the area, there is a dedicated medical administrative section where we collaborate closely with several specialties.

At the emergency department, 15 medical administrators handle the medical documentation for seven sections: pediatrics, medicine, orthopedics, surgery, neurology, gynecology, and mobile teams. This means a varied and developing job in an environment where the pace is sometimes high, and where we make a difference every day.

We work in modern facilities with access to an outdoor area, a kitchen, and a break room. The work environment is characterized by an open landscape, team spirit, and close collaboration – we support each other and work together to create structure and quality in a dynamic environment.

Your Responsibilities

As a medical administrator at the emergency department, you play a significant key role in the patient's care chain. You are an important part of the workgroup and collaborate with several different roles within healthcare.

Your responsibilities will include:

• documentation in the journal system Cosmic
• diagnosis classification
• referral management
• other relevant medical administrative tasks

We staff the operation every day of the week from 07:00 to 22:00.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for someone who has a recognized degree as a medical administrator/medical secretary or is currently in training to become a medical administrator. You have excellent knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as well as medical terminology.

You are meticulous, flexible, responsible, and have a good attitude and enjoy providing service. To thrive with us, you should be able to take your own initiatives and organize your work independently, but also have a good ability to collaborate in a team. Personal suitability is of great importance.
