We are currently looking for a teacher in social studies, sociology, and sports for the Social Science Program at Rudbecksgymnasiet.

About the position

In the role of a teacher, you will belong to a work team in the Social Science Program and teach social studies, sociology, sports, and leadership, as well as be expected to participate and contribute to the ongoing development of the Social Science Program together with your colleagues. The Social Science Program has two specializations: Behavior and Social Orientation. You will be part of the behavior specialization, and your main teaching will be in that specialization based on GY25 and GY11 in year 3.

Examples of tasks:

  • mentor students
  • plan, implement, and evaluate teaching
  • work and document in the existing operational systems
  • participate in team work
  • participate in other work at the school together with the school's staff
  • drive development work within the Social Science Program

About the workplace

Rudbecksgymnasiet is one of Örebro Municipality's four high schools. The school is centrally located with about 1500 students and approximately 140 staff. Here we prepare and equip our students for the future by making studies varied and reality-based. Rudbecksgymnasiet offers both higher education and vocational preparatory programs: the Economics Program, Sales and Service Program, International Baccalaureate, Natural Science Program, Social Science Program, and Health and Social Care Program. The school also has a National Gymnasium for the deaf and hard of hearing with both higher education and vocational preparatory programs. We are a school that has cross-school projects where all programs participate, as well as an active work to create safety. We have a common student health service and an established organization for students in need of support. We see the benefit of working together and view each program as part of a whole. The teachers are organized into teams, and we also have subject teams for professional development and subject and teaching development.

Rudbecksgymnasiet is part of the High School and Labor Market Administration. Here, 1400 employees work in various roles to provide young people and adults in Örebro with the same opportunities for education and self-sufficiency. Qualifications

We are looking for someone with good subject knowledge and the ability to convey it pedagogically. It is important that you can adapt teaching and learning according to the student's needs. Ability to collaborate and contribute to a calm and safe school environment is essential. We see that you as a teacher with us have a flexible approach to your surroundings, that you are creative, and that you find it easy to build new relationships. You have good pedagogical insight and find it easy to collaborate with both students, guardians, and colleagues. You are self-sufficient in your work, and the role also requires you to plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. Furthermore, you must master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with students and other staff, as well as document what the operation requires in writing.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • teacher certification with authorization to teach social studies/sociology and sports for high school, or an authorization-granting degree that qualifies for certification

Meritorious:

  • authorization to teach additional subjects
  • experience working as a teacher in high school
  • experience working in teaching platforms (e.g., It’s Learning)
