If you are a newly graduated teacher, you will receive mentoring from a mentor during your first year. If you are studying to become a teacher, there are also good opportunities to combine work with studies. As a teacher in Karlskoga Municipality's schools, you have the opportunity to continue your professional development and advance your career. You can, among other things, become a mentor for student teachers or a lead teacher, and we apply distributed leadership with responsibility for various development groups.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a teacher in after-school care, you have overall responsibility for planning, leading, and developing the education in after-school care with the goal of creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.
During the school day, you are an active and present educator in class, smaller groups, and during breaks. Depending on your qualifications, you may also be responsible for a subject. You have close and daily collaboration with the school's staff.
A prioritized area for the position is to plan and implement break activities aimed at creating a sense of safety.
Your tasks also include:
- contact with guardians
- collaboration with the student health team, school management, and possibly external actors
- school-wide values work
- teamwork
- working and documenting in the existing operational systems
- analysis of teaching and results.
Working hours are scheduled between 06:00 and 18:00.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is a licensed teacher in after-school care.
To contribute to the school's continued digital development, you are expected to have good IT skills and be able to easily take on digital systems. Furthermore, you must master the Swedish language in such a way that you can communicate with students, colleagues, and guardians, as well as document in writing what the operations require.
You are a confident and stable leader both in the classroom and in after-school activities. You find it easy to create and maintain good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You value and contribute to good collaboration by having an open, accommodating, and solution-oriented approach.
It is an advantage if you have qualifications in Swedish and mathematics.
Experience from working in schools or after-school care is also an advantage.
It is also advantageous if you have experience:
- in planning and conducting break activities
- in the area of diabetes
- with students in need of support within the neuropsychiatric field.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
