Nordmarkens School is located in the southern part of Årjäng and is the municipality's largest school. It is a K-9 school with approximately 700 students and just over 100 staff.

We have a relatively new building (2020) for grades 1-6, including an adapted primary school for grades 1-9. The upper secondary building was completed in 2015 and also hosts grades 3-6 for instruction in several practical subjects. Preschool, after-school care, and a culture school are also available on the premises.

We have a well-functioning support system aimed at quickly identifying students' needs and providing early support. The school has special teachers, special educators, a counselor, a school nurse, a study and career counselor, and through student health services, access to a school psychologist and school doctor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teaching assistant, you will support one or more students in their work throughout the school day and sometimes during leisure time.

It is important that you work closely and are active, especially regarding free play, outdoor activities, breaks, transitions, and practical-aesthetic subjects.

The job requires good communication skills with both adults and children.

The current students have significant support needs, so it is important to have a good approach in challenging situations.

The working hours are distributed over 5 days.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have relevant experience working with challenging students in grades K-6 and after-school care. You have experience working in teams and can contribute creativity and solution-focused thinking. You are calm, self-driven, and have a broad work experience. We value qualities such as responsibility, teamwork ability, and initiative.
