Instructor at the Training Department

The Karlstad Region Rescue Service works to ensure that people living and staying in the member municipalities of Forshaga, Grums, Hammarö, Karlstad, Kil, and Munkfors are safe and secure. The advertised position is organized under the training department, which offers training in fire safety, emergency first aid, and safety work in various professional roles. All our instructors are experienced educators with backgrounds in emergency services, and therefore accustomed to handling the situations we train for. We can provide training at the fire station in Karlstad, at any of our other stations in the region, or on-site at the customer’s location. We are happy to tailor the training to meet specific needs.

Job Responsibilities

As an instructor, you will have a meaningful and varied workday where you will play a role that combines pedagogy, technology, and practical work. Among other things, you will conduct fire safety training and CPR training both at the training field in Karlstad and at customer locations (as needed).

Since you are part of a team, you may also serve as a service technician during other instructors' training sessions. This could involve transporting and handling equipment to external training locations, as well as participating in rescue service training and exercises at our training facility.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, we see that you have experience in conducting training and possess good pedagogical skills. To contribute and understand the operations, we see that you have documented experience in so-called blue light operations and enjoy meeting people.

If you also have experience in municipal rescue services, you will quickly adapt to the role!
