Ferlinskolan in Filipstad is now looking for an engaged and relationship-building student coach who wants to help strengthen our students' school attendance and study environment.

As a student coach, you will be an important part of our work to increase school attendance and will work closely with both students and staff. Your main workplace will be the school's common room, where you build relationships, create safety, and provide support to students in both social and academic situations.

Our school is located in the central part of Filipstad, and here we have grades 7–9 and adapted primary school grades 7–9. Approximately 300 students attend our school, and we have around 45 employees. Our school is multicultural, with students who care for one another. We place great importance on having good relationships between students and adults at the school.

Responsibilities

As a student coach at Ferlinskolan, you will primarily work with:

• Supporting students in their schoolwork outside the classroom, both spontaneously and in planned sessions.
• Motivating and helping students to attend lessons, following up on attendance, and being an active support in daily life.
• Building relationships and contributing to a safe and welcoming environment in the school's common room.
• Acting as an adult role model and creating good routines for study focus, breaks, and social contexts.
• Collaborating with mentors, teachers, and student health to provide students with the right support at the right time.

• Genuine interest in youth development and education.
• Ability to create trusting relationships.
• Confident, clear, and solution-focused work approach.
• Ability to set boundaries while showing warmth and respect.
• Enjoy working in an environment where no day is the same.
• Previous experience in pedagogy, leisure activities, social work, or other relevant fields. Personal suitability will be highly valued.

Conditions

For this position, a valid extract from the police criminal record is a prerequisite for employment. When offered employment, it is mandatory to undergo a new employment examination by the occupational health service.
