Kriminalvården is growing – we are building new, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, detention centers, and client transport.

The section for operational processes for prisons/detention centers is organizationally placed at the national department for operational content at Kriminalvården's headquarters. The section has the overarching mission to standardize, develop, and improve high-quality operational content for the activity, tailored to the needs of different client groups and the possibility of a life without crime.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As an expert in the section, you have a challenging and developing assignment ahead of you. The tasks are varied and focused on developing the operational content in prisons and detention centers in line with the authority's long-term priorities. The section supports the implementation of strategic decisions and initiates and drives development projects aimed at strengthening the organization's ability to achieve its goals.

The assignment also includes identifying and addressing the core operations' communicated needs for support and national guidance. Alongside qualified investigative work and a long-term development focus, the section also works to provide operational support to prisons and detention centers on current issues. The position requires the ability to switch between strategic and operational perspectives.

A purposeful and quality-assured operational content is central to the organization being able to fulfill its mission and conduct safe, lawful, uniform, and effective corrections. The section's development work must therefore be conducted in close dialogue with core operations and the support departments at headquarters but also, where applicable, with external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

The work as an expert requires that you have good collaboration skills and can relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner. In the role, you are proactive, take responsibility for your tasks, and drive your processes forward. In your work, you have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your tasks effectively. You see the whole picture in various issues and take into account the larger perspective. Based on that, you find it easy to both work in the present and adapt to changing circumstances.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Relevant academic degree, preferably in social or legal sciences, or other education combined with work experience that Kriminalvården assesses as equivalent
  • Well-documented experience of independent and qualified investigative and development work within public administration
  • Experience of work requiring collaboration and/or coordination with experts in other subject areas or organizational levels than your own
  • Experience of work in Kriminalvården's core operations in prisons or detention centers
  • Ability to switch effortlessly between strategic perspectives and more complex tasks to handle issues of a directly operational nature
  • Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience of strategic work with digitalization, such as development, implementation, or governance of digital solutions at an organization-wide level
  • Experience of working in projects, qualified investigative work, or larger assignments
  • Experience of implementation and change work
  • Experience of working with requirements specification and management of contracts
  • Experience of working with system support
