New employees at the Youth Investigation Unit receive an introduction at the workplace from a mentor with the support of the unit's introduction program. Gävle municipality is connected to Yrkesresan, which further strengthens the professional introduction and your skills development. The unit has supervision from an external supervisor.

The Youth Investigation Unit works with close supervision. You are part of a team led by a senior social worker who is also your supervisor. The team meets for weekly preparations, and you have ongoing individual case reviews with your supervisor. An important aspect of the operation is our routines and working methods that should ensure you in your work and assignment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The unit's mission is to investigate the needs of children and young people for protection and support, as well as to follow up on interventions. This involves open interventions as well as placements in HVB homes, SIS institutions, and temporary placements.

The work is carried out independently, together with a colleague and with the support of the team leader. This means planning, processing, and documenting cases, as well as leading meetings and coordinating work with others. It requires skill in communicating and collaborating with children, young people, and their families, as well as colleagues and partners. Society and the needs of children change, which requires openness to learn new things, develop oneself, and the working methods of the unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience in investigative work.

To succeed in your role as a social worker:

• You work to follow statutory requirements, policies, and instructions, and adhere to set timelines.
• You have the ability to see what needs to be prioritized and organized, are efficient, and use resources to achieve results in the best way.
• You work legally secure and have good judgment skills.
• You are good at both working independently and together with others, you are perceived as stable, easily create trust, and always work to provide a good response.
• You easily create and maintain good relationships and collaborate well with people in different contexts and functions.

You have a good initiative and understand spoken and written communication well. You have good documentation skills and can express yourself in speech and writing. You adapt your language to different situations and functions.

You have experience with BBIC (children's needs in focus) and SoS (signs of safety).

A driver's license and good driving experience are required for the position.

For this position, a police record extract is required. This will only be requested from the final candidate in the last step of the recruitment process.
