Welcome to the Children and Youth Unit in Bollnäs!

The Children and Youth Unit is part of the Social Administration's Individual and Family Care.

The unit is divided into three teams based on the age of the children and youth we meet; 0-6 years, 7-12 years, and 13-20 years. The unit consists of a unit manager, three senior social workers, and 18 social workers. The senior social worker provides close support in everyday life to you as a social worker, including regular check-ins where your work situation is monitored. When you work with us, we provide you with a good introduction and the opportunity to develop in the role of a social worker. You will not be left alone; we help each other both within and between teams.

With us, freedom and balance are important – we offer flexible working hours and a healthy workload so that you can thrive and feel good.

We actively work with Signs of Safety, and this approach is part of our daily routine. We offer good opportunities for professional development, including through the Professional Journey.

Employees in the unit describe the workplace as follows:

  • Here we receive trust from colleagues, senior social workers, and from the nearest manager; we can contribute to development and collaboration with others.
  • We have a strong focus on team spirit, and we are not left alone.
  • We work in bright, fresh premises with modern technology. The workplace is centrally located, close to green areas, perfect for a lunch walk.
  • We have a reasonable workload and flexible working hours.
  • We have time to build trust and relationships with the children and youth we meet.
  • We have time to come prepared for meetings and time for reflection.
  • We have the opportunity to combine work well with family life and leisure interests.

With us, you receive external supervision, and we have good opportunities for remote work with up to 40% of working hours. We also offer vacation exchange and wellness benefits.

Job Responsibilities

The main task is case management according to SoL and LVU. As a social worker, you handle incoming reports and applications. You investigate needs for support, help, and protection, and follow up on decided interventions according to applicable legislation. We are working on the transition to a new Social Services Act, which will affect our work moving forward.

Our target group in the unit is children and youth aged 0-20 years, their families, and networks. It is of great importance that the children and families we meet experience a high degree of participation and that their own suggestions for solutions are taken into account. Collaboration with other units within IFO as well as with preschools, schools, child and adolescent psychiatry, and the police is another important part of our work. Business trips may occur in the job.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work. We prefer that you have experience in authority-based investigative work, but this is not a requirement. Experience and familiarity with working according to the Signs of Safety approach and BBIC is meritorious. You should have the ability to remain calm even in stressful situations. You have the ability to take responsibility for your tasks, are used to collaborating with others, and have a strong empathetic ability. You should be interested in working with development and improvements. You have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good computer skills. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and the ability to fit into the workgroup.

Conditions

Permanent position with start date 2026-04-01 or by agreement. Individual salary setting applies. A valid driver's license (B) is required.

We apply annual working hours, which means you can partially influence your working hours based on the needs of the organization; our normal working hours are 8 AM to 4:30 PM. A probationary period may be applied.

Interviews and recruitment may occur continuously during the recruitment process, so do not wait to submit your application.
