Workplace Description
Norrbergets Service Housing is part of the Functional Support area in the Welfare sector.
You will work closely with your colleagues, your unit manager, and other partners.
Norrbergets Service Housing offers support services to individuals covered by the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS). The overarching goal of the law is for individuals to be able to live like everyone else without being limited by their disabilities. Here, together with your colleagues, you will work to provide the residents of the service housing with the best possible living conditions.

Your Mission
As a support pedagogue, you will work together with the support assistants in the unit to provide help and support to the residents based on their individual needs and approved assistance. The work is based on established action plans and goals, and the support includes providing assistance in all household tasks such as planning, personal hygiene, clothing care, laundry, cleaning, nutrition, cooking, shopping, finances, medication, social training, and leisure and cultural activities, among others.
As a support pedagogue in the unit, you have a driving role in the unit's systematic quality work and development work within the LSS area. In your role, you are responsible for promoting an ethical and humanistic approach towards users to ensure that the work complies with legislation and the conditions for good living standards. The position includes monitoring developments in the LSS area, identifying training needs within the organization, and communicating and suggesting measures to your immediate supervisor. You will have a particular focus on the user's independence, participation, and ability to communicate through various alternative and complementary communication methods. The position also includes actively participating in and, if necessary, leading network meetings for support pedagogues within the Functional Support area or otherwise contributing your expertise where it is requested.
Main tasks, in addition to individual work, include guiding and mentoring colleagues in specific issues and professional ethical dilemmas, being a role model in everyday pedagogical work, and developing, teaching, and following up on pedagogical methods in the workgroup based on the individual needs of the users. You will act as a resource for new assignments and can support colleagues in social documentation, establishing deviations, and in connection with network meetings regarding the users.
Working hours are scheduled throughout the day and are continuously adapted to the needs of the operation.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following education:
- Vocational training as a support pedagogue, or a higher education/university degree that the employer deems appropriate
- For the title of support pedagogue, a post-secondary specialization in the field of disabilities is required, covering at least 200 YH credits or 60 higher education credits or a combination thereof equivalent to at least two semesters of full-time study. The education should have a clear focus on the disability area in its entirety
We prefer candidates who have previously worked as a support pedagogue or support assistant, or have experience in individual-focused and/or pedagogical work. Experience with clarifying pedagogy is a plus.
As a person, you are good at conveying security, have a low-arousal approach, and can handle complex expressions. You are resilient, value collaboration, and demonstrate a professional demeanor towards everyone in your work. You work from a holistic perspective and have the ability to plan and structure your work. Furthermore, you need to be able to make independent decisions while respecting decisions made by others and can perform work on behalf of others.
All employees are responsible for contributing to increased quality and safety, seeking new knowledge, initiating development, and reporting deficiencies.

Documentation and communication are part of the job, which requires good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. A B driver's license is a requirement for the position.
