We are looking for a deacon who:

• has the courage to listen to what is not always said
• dare to stand firm when life leans
• believes in people's own strength and God's presence in the midst of everything
• can create structure in chaos and warmth in the orderly
• likes to build relationships, networks, and bridges
• can both hold a conversation with someone grieving, lead a project meeting in the work team, and enjoy a spontaneous coffee break with someone who just needed to be seen

Your tasks may include:

• diaconal conversations and support efforts
• work with volunteers and social activities
• collaboration with community actors
• worship services, devotions, and pastoral care
• development work within diaconia and sustainability

Leadership:

The position has a leadership function so we are looking for someone who wants to take overall responsibility, strengthen structures, and contribute both warmth and strategic thinking.

Today, our diaconal team consists of:

• Two deacons at 50% and 100% focusing on the parish's core activities.
• One deacon with a shared position between Hudiksvallsbygden Parish and the Hospital Church at Hudiksvall Hospital.

As a leading deacon, you will, together with the parish priest and management, coordinate and strengthen the whole and contribute to direction and clarity in a diaconia that is already well anchored but has the potential to grow further. You have a special responsibility to enliven and deepen the diaconal perspective in the entire parish's activities.

Who are you?

You are a ordained deacon in the Church of Sweden (or on your way to becoming one). You carry a warm heart, a stable foundation, and a willingness to follow where God points – even when the map needs to be redrawn.

Working hours: Evening and weekend work is included in the position
