Temporary Family Therapist
The mission of the Social Administration is to help people who, due to age, disabilities, illness, economic or family problems, need various forms of support and assistance. The activities include elderly care, health and medical care, support for relatives, functional support, and individual and family care.
Through our work, we want to create conditions for participation, security, and influence over one’s own life.
We look forward to having you join us on our journey in a role where you make a difference for others. Welcome to us and welcome with your application!
About the Position
One of our colleagues will be on parental leave, and we are therefore looking for a temporary family therapist.
We are in an exciting phase of development and believe that you, as our new employee, would like to participate in our ongoing development work together with us, families, their networks, and partners.
We family therapists have diverse experiences and educational backgrounds, which we see as a strength. The operation is divided into two teams. One team focuses on youth issues, school absenteeism, and violence in close relationships. The other is aimed at the needs of younger children and parental support regarding structure and routines at home. The teams work closely together.
Job Responsibilities
Our mission is to support families so that children and young people develop positively and to strengthen parents' caregiving abilities. The purpose of family therapy is to enhance parenting, improve communication among family members, and strengthen relationships within the family, so that children can remain in their home environment, function in preschool/school, and enjoy their leisure time.
The assignment includes providing emergency crisis support to families when there has been violence and/or violations against children, as well as working with both the victimized adult and the perpetrating adult.
We work in the families' homes, in our facilities at Heden, or in neutral places in the community, depending on the assignment and needs. Work in the early morning and/or evening is included based on the nature of the assignment, for example, in the form of observations in the home within the framework of an ongoing child welfare investigation. Weekend work may occur.
We primarily work with assessed assistance in close collaboration with social workers. The work is done with the entire family or with individuals based on needs.
We believe in building good relationships and collaborations with children and their parents as well as with schools, child and youth health care, child and youth habilitation, and more. Our work is methodologically anchored, and we actively work to ensure a knowledge-based and evidence-based approach.
You will be responsible for the entire treatment process and have documentation obligations. Travel for work is required.
Qualifications
A requirement is that you have a university degree as a social pedagogue, behavioral scientist, educational degree with a focus on children, social worker, or another education that the employer finds equivalent. 210 credits.
It is also required that you have at least 3 years of practical experience in treatment work, family therapy, or special education work, as well as experience within social services.
If you have further education in systemic theoretical approaches or psychosocial treatment work or further training in attachment theory, Marte Meo, the Safety Circle, KIBB, FFT, PYC, or similar evidence-based methods, it is an advantage.
Your job responsibilities include various group activities, such as parenting support in groups according to Cope, and therefore we want you to be an educated group leader for some parenting education. The approach based on Signs of Safety forms the foundation for our work, and you should have knowledge in this area.
We would like you to have knowledge about children's development at different ages, about neuropsychiatric issues in children, adolescents, and adults, and about educational aids. Other skills we value include training in violence in close relationships and honor-related violence and experience in such work, as well as knowledge of how parents' psychological, cognitive, physical, social, and economic difficulties can affect children's lives and how these difficulties can be managed.
We want you to have the ability to create a trusting working alliance and to instill hope that changes are beneficial and possible.
You should easily collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and partners and find this important. At the same time, we expect you to independently drive and take responsibility for your tasks and be stable and secure in your role. The work places high demands on self-awareness and collaboration skills.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
The position includes documentation. A requirement is that you can express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
For this employment, it is a requirement to present a police record extract before an employment offer.
A driver's license is a requirement.
