Description

Public health work is highly prioritized within the entire organization of the municipality with an overarching goal area of “Increased health and well-being.”

Focus areas include public health, the health and upbringing conditions of children and youth, preschool and school as health-promoting arenas, violence prevention work, and the health of the elderly.

We are looking for a development-oriented, future-focused, and driven public health developer who wants to lead public health work forward in Lilla Edet Municipality. You will work closely with politicians, collaborate with the municipality's other public health developers, and together with our operations, managers, and colleagues. The position is both strategic and operational, and you will work from a holistic perspective. An important part of the job is also to streamline and develop processes.

You will lead and coordinate efforts aimed at preventing ill health and promoting health and quality of life among children, youth, and adults. The position will focus on physical activity, joy of movement, and healthy eating habits in 2026, and then, based on an overall situational picture, possibly shift focus to other challenge areas within public health where extra efforts are needed during 2027-2028.

The target group for the work is all residents of Lilla Edet Municipality and employees of Lilla Edet Municipality. The assignment will involve developing existing initiatives, implementing new initiatives, but also exploring opportunities and conditions for various initiatives.

The position includes process leadership and project management at both strategic and operational levels. You are expected to initiate, lead, and coordinate projects and initiatives that promote social sustainability and contribute to reducing inequalities and strengthening public health in the municipality and the region.

Qualifications

You are engaged, secure, and comfortable leading others. You are attentive, have a holistic perspective, and can handle several public health areas simultaneously. You have the ability to inspire, communicate, and create valuable meetings. The assignment requires you to be a good relationship and bridge builder and actively collaborate with various stakeholders, always for the best of our residents. You have the ability to turn vision into reality.

Additional qualifications:

  • have a relevant university degree in public health, social work, or another area that we assess as equivalent.
  • have experience in strategic work within social sustainability and public health issues and/or drug prevention work.
  • have experience leading and coordinating complex projects, including experience working in networks and collaborating with various stakeholders.
  • have the ability to communicate clearly and engagingly, both verbally and in writing.
  • have experience from a politically governed organization where municipal operations are meritorious.

Conditions

The position is a fixed-term project employment lasting until December 31, 2028.
