Your Responsibilities

Are you good at supporting and motivating others? Do you have experience meeting individuals with ongoing substance abuse and dependency issues? Then you might be the one we are looking for as a support pedagogue at Nya Tanneforsvägen!

As a support pedagogue, you will support our clients through coaching and guiding conversations. You help clients gain structure in their daily lives, assist with household tasks and personal care, and serve as the client's link to social authorities, healthcare, psychiatry, probation services, etc.

You work to motivate clients to maintain and develop their abilities and create meaningful days through a pedagogical approach. Together with the clients, you will establish implementation plans based on their needs. In addition to daily tasks, you are expected, together with your employer, to identify areas for development such as implementation plans, documentation, and response plans. The support you provide should respect the client's autonomy and integrity while enhancing their self-esteem. The department is responsible for authority exercise for adults aged 21 and above within individual and family care, LSS, and social psychiatry. The department is tasked with conducting services in-house and procuring activities to meet the client's needs.

As a support pedagogue, you also actively contribute to the development of the organization by using scientifically proven theories, methods, and experiences. You have a clear focus on the clients and participate in development work relevant to the organization. You may also have specific areas of responsibility within this development work.

Your Workplace

The mission of the Social Administration is to support community residents to live independently and ensure that all residents receive the support they are entitled to under the Social Services Act and the Act on Special Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS). Nya Tanneforsvägen is located under the Adult Department.

Nya Tanneforsvägen is a residence with 9 apartments, and we provide housing support for about 10 people in regular housing. The target group is adults with ongoing substance abuse and dependency issues. Experienced treatment assistants and a group leader work at the workplace. We care for each other, and the work environment is good.

Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and sleeping on-call. Single staffing during on-call hours with support from the night patrol. Weekend work on the current schedule is every other weekend. During days and evenings, we work with at least two employees.

Who You Are

We are looking for someone who is a trained support pedagogue or has a relevant YH or university degree. You need to have experience working with substance abuse and dependency issues. Knowledge of MI (Motivational Interviewing), ESL (an independent life), low-affect responses, and pedagogical approaches are desirable.

You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as the language is used extensively in the job, for example, in documentation and meetings with clients. You are accustomed to using computers for documentation. Experience with documentation in Treserva is an advantage. A driver's license for a manual transmission is required as some tasks may involve accompanying clients to meetings, activities, or medical appointments.

You enjoy collaborating with other professionals and have good teamwork skills by being attentive, communicative, solution-oriented, and focused on the individual. You demonstrate good pedagogical insight and understand how individuals absorb knowledge, adapting your way of conveying messages according to the recipient. It is also required that you have the ability to empathize with someone else's perspective or situation, as well as being relationship-building and having a good ability to establish contact with people. It is also important that you can work both independently and in an organized manner by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work well.
