Everyone we meet at Stadsmissionen has a story.

Stories about searching for a place to sleep, feeling hunger, involuntary loneliness, or living with threats and violence. We meet the people behind these stories every day, all year round – and we work just as often for their opportunity for change and a better life. At Stadsmissionen, you can make a real difference, be part of something bigger, and help create a more humane society.

We are now looking for several dedicated housing support workers who want to work as hourly substitutes and summer substitutes during the regular staff's absence. There is an opportunity to work both day, evening, weekend, and awake night shifts. This is a perfect assignment for you who want to contribute to safety and stability for vulnerable people. With us, you will have a meaningful part-time job, valuable knowledge, and experience working with people in social vulnerability and dependency issues – a merit whether you are studying in the field or want to develop in your professional role.

About the role
We run the accommodation on behalf of Linköping Municipality. The operation is aimed at adults experiencing homelessness with ongoing substance use, mental health issues, and/or dual diagnosis. The accommodation has 25 apartments and 8 emergency places. You will work closely with people in vulnerable life situations and contribute to safety, structure, and hope in their daily lives.

As a housing support worker, you are an important part of the participants' daily lives. You provide supervision and support based on each individual's needs, work proactively and motivationally, and are a support on the path to greater independence. At the same time, you help reduce the harmful effects of substance abuse and mental health issues. You are present in the daily life, provide guidance, and ensure that the accommodation's rules are followed for everyone's safety. The work is based on the individual's implementation plan and involves close collaboration with colleagues and external actors. Documentation is a natural part of your work, and you work systematically to ensure quality and adherence to routines. Together with your colleagues, you create a safe, professional, and meaningful environment for our residents.

Who are you?
You have a genuine commitment to social work and a desire to make a difference – both for the individual and society at large. You share our values and believe in everyone's right to a dignified life. We are looking for someone who creates safety and calm, and who finds it easy to build good relationships. You are empathetic, clear in your communication, and confident in setting boundaries. Since our participants' needs vary, it is important that you are flexible, solution-oriented, and have good self-awareness. You enjoy collaborating but have no problem taking your own initiatives when the situation requires it. You have a structured, responsible, and professional approach to work and document in a correct and clear manner.

We are looking for you who have:

  • A completed vocational education as a treatment pedagogue, social pedagogue, or have other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
  • Documented knowledge of and/or experience in working with dependency issues, mental health problems, and/or functional variations.
  • Experience in record-keeping/documentation.
  • A driving license (B).

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Training in relapse prevention (ÅP), motivational interviewing (MI), low-arousal approach, and/or independent living (ESL).

We place great emphasis on personal matching.

Are you ready to make a difference? Welcome with your application as soon as possible, recruitment is ongoing!

Other
- The operation runs around the clock
- Work shifts are scheduled during the day, irregular working hours during the day, evening, and weekend, or awake night shifts
- A criminal record check is required upon hiring.
