Skenäs Prison is located on Vikbolandet, thirty kilometers outside Norrköping and is not connected to public transport. Skenäs will be upgraded from security class 3 to security class 2 in 2026, which means a strong focus on general security work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an important part of the work to prevent recidivism and to work according to the vision of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service "Better Out", extensive program activities are conducted for clients both in groups and individually. The treatment programs are conducted with high quality and according to the principles of evidence-based practice. They are primarily based on cognitive behavioral therapy and social learning theory.

At Skenäs Prison, programs aimed at crime, violence, domestic violence, and substance abuse are conducted. The combined program offerings may mean that you will concurrently lead several different programs. The position includes working both individually and together with other program leaders as well as with other staff groups at the prison, where you collaborate, plan, and document clients' participation and development.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in behavioral sciences or other education combined with experience deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
• The ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
• A valid driver's license (B).

It is an advantage if you have:

• Post-secondary education in behavioral sciences.
• Approved basic training within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
• Other training with a treatment focus that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
• Training in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's national programs.
• Client-facing experience in correctional services.
• Other client-facing work experience in care and treatment or social work.
• Experience applying the RBM principles (Risk-Need-Responsivity).
• Basic knowledge of cognitive methods.
• Relevant language skills.

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and self-aware. You have the ability to communicate clearly and find it easy to collaborate with others. In stressful situations, you maintain your composure and have the ability to make correct assessments and priorities. You have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and adapt your way of conveying messages based on the recipient's conditions. You should also have a physical condition that allows you to act physically if the situation requires it.
