Accountant at Martela

The current accountant at Martela is going on parental leave, and we are now looking for someone who wants to step into an independent and responsible role from May 2026 to August 2027.

Here, you will have the opportunity to work broadly with accounting in a Nordic corporate environment, be an important part of the business, and contribute to both structure and development.

The role is based at the office in Nässjö with the possibility to work two days a week remotely. Martela offers a varied position where you will have overall responsibility, close collaboration with management, and good opportunities to influence and streamline working methods.

About the position

As an accountant, you will have a broad and varied role where you are responsible for ongoing bookkeeping, financial reporting, and economic administration in Martela AB and Martela AS, with reporting to the parent company Martela Oyj.

In your role, you will be responsible for monthly and quarterly financial statements as well as the preparation of annual reports according to applicable regulations. You will handle VAT and income declarations, expense management, accounts receivable and payable, invoicing, and payments. The position also includes administrative tasks such as managing company cars, reporting payroll data to an external payroll consultant, and supporting the CEO in HR, IT, and sales follow-up matters. You will report to the Sales Director Sweden and CFO Finland and assist Martela Finland as needed in contacts with Swedish authorities.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a higher education in economics or equivalent work experience, with good experience in accounting and active participation in financial closing work. You are comfortable with numbers, have a structured and meticulous work style, and enjoy taking responsibility for the overall economic flows. As a person, you are curious, responsible, and unpretentious. You enjoy collaborating and have several points of contact, both externally and internally.

To succeed in the role, it is important that you have good experience with business systems, preferably Dynamics 365 and Medius, as well as very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel. You have a basic understanding of payroll management and personnel costs and express yourself well in both Swedish and English.
