Kammarrätten i Jönköping is looking for an adjunct judge

Kammarrätten i Jönköping is one of four administrative courts in Sweden. It is a general administrative court that handles cases appealed from a district court. The court processes a very large number of case types, with approximately 4,000 cases received annually, primarily concerning disputes between individuals and authorities. The court has around 65 employees and we work in modern premises in central Jönköping.

A future career as a regular judge?

In a one-year position as an adjunct judge, you, as an experienced and qualified lawyer, can try the judicial profession and qualify for a position as a judge. This position is an opportunity for those who have not followed the judicial career path to experience the role of a judge and creates better conditions for assessing your suitability for the profession at a later stage if you apply for a regular judge position.

As an adjunct judge, you are part of the court's regular operations, and through practical work, training, and support from experienced colleagues, you gain a unique opportunity for new experiences and a valuable merit for your future career.

During the initial six months, you will serve in the Kammarrätten i Jönköping as part of the collegial adjudication in the appellate court. An important part of the work is to participate in presentations and oral hearings and to write judgments and decisions. You will then be appointed to serve six months at one of the administrative courts in Linköping or Jönköping, where you will experience independent decision-making in the district court. You will be the chair in hearings and make decisions in various types of cases. After the employment, you will receive a reference.

"Being able to adjudicate in both instances was an incredible opportunity for me to broaden my knowledge base. At the appellate court, I judged collegially with experienced colleagues and then tried independent decision-making in the district court. This was an invaluable experience for me, coming from a law firm. Today, I am employed as a judge in the district court. It is a journey I highly recommend!” – Morris, former adjunct judge
