About 400 employees work at the Swedish Courts Authority, with the headquarters located centrally in Jönköping, and local offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, and Umeå.

The Court Academy is now looking for court assessors from the Court of Appeal or Administrative Court for some of the Academy's various subject areas.
Did you know that the Court Academy organizes over 200 courses per year and is responsible for all legal competence development for judges and other court lawyers working in the adjudicative operations of Sweden's courts? The Court Academy also participates extensively in international networks for educational issues.

Training judges and future judges has an important function in a rule of law. This preserves and strengthens the independence and high competence of the courts. In Sweden, it is the Court Academy that has the task of providing such education.
Through your work at the Court Academy, you will have the opportunity to meet and collaborate with teachers and other individuals working inside and outside Sweden's Courts. Some of our work is international, and there may be contacts with other countries.
What does the job entail?
As a competence developer at the Court Academy, you will work on planning, implementing, and developing legal training tailored to the needs of the courts. You will also have the opportunity to work on other tasks within the Academy. The job involves a lot of contact with teachers from the courts as well as external lecturers from universities, other authorities, and the private sector. The work is independent but requires you to be good at collaborating with others.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who is a skilled lawyer with current operational knowledge from the courts. To be eligible for this position, you need to be an assessor from the Court of Appeal or Administrative Court. You also need to have very good knowledge of English. It is an advantage if you have experience in competence development work, pedagogical training, or experience in teaching assignments.
To succeed in the role of competence developer, you need to have a very good analytical ability. You must also find it easy to collaborate with others and communicate clearly adapted to the recipient and situation. Since we are a small organization with a comprehensive mission, it is also important that you are skilled at working independently, making decisions, and driving multiple issues forward simultaneously. You should be interested in and willing to participate in the work with the Court Academy's international matters. You should be interested in development issues and have a good ability to adapt to changing conditions. We expect you to be receptive and unpretentious in your way of interacting with colleagues and contribute to a good atmosphere in the workplace.
To be considered for employment, you must meet high standards regarding judgment, security awareness, and suitability. This means that you stand up for democratic values and the governmental values that govern the operations of Sweden's Courts. We require that you comply with applicable laws. Prior to employment, background checks may be conducted. We place great importance on your personal qualities.
Other
Fixed-term employment for up to six years with the possibility of extension. The employment form requires that you have a basic employment as an assessor. The advertisement concerns one or more court assessors from the Court of Appeal or Administrative Court.
Placement at our headquarters in Jönköping, or at one of our local offices in Gothenburg or Malmö.

The Court Academy is an independent unit within the Swedish Courts Authority and is governed by a rector who is also the head of administration. Within the Court Academy, trained judges work as competence developers, educational administrators, and subject-responsible judges. The Court Academy is a workplace where joy at work, engagement, trust, and responsibility are important guiding principles. The work is characterized by a high degree of delegation and a lot of personal responsibility for employees. Remote work is offered to some extent, by agreement with the immediate supervisor.
