Communications and Staff Unit

Do you enjoy working on interesting tasks alongside competent and engaged colleagues? Then you might be the one we are looking for! The Communications and Staff Unit provides support for communication, management support, and geographic information systems (GIS).

The unit belongs to the Department of Operational Support. We are a total of 10 people working closely together to provide the best support to the county management and the authority as a whole.

The GIS group within the unit supports the operations with everything from basic GIS support to advanced analyses. With us at the County Administrative Board, you will definitely learn new things every day.

We are now looking for a GIS Administrator

The GIS workgroup needs reinforcement in operational support during the spring. We support users in ArcGIS Pro, manage local geodata in SDE, maintain the county administrative boards' GIS systems, and operate several customized internal and external web GIS, story maps, and field apps to fulfill our assignments. Your tasks will primarily involve supporting the operations' working methods and procedures, providing support and training to users, as well as performing analyses and managing geodata. In your daily work, you will collaborate with various departments within the County Administrative Board.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone with ongoing or completed higher education in GIS or equivalent competence acquired through work experience. You should have good knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, be able to handle Esri's online platform and field apps, and provide support for them. Knowledge of ModelBuilder and Python is an advantage.

We are looking for someone who is meticulous, structured, and attentive. We want you to have good problem-solving and collaboration skills. You have a good sense of service and can easily communicate verbally and in writing.

Conditions

The employment is a fixed-term special time-limited position starting as soon as possible or by agreement for six months. The position is a so-called intermittent part-time employment where the average working time per week will be 40 percent. Your job title at the authority will be administrator. Security clearance with background checks will be conducted according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) before a hiring decision is made. In some cases, Swedish citizenship is required.

In these activities, we have a responsibility in our case management to weigh different interests against each other. We work to ensure that national goals are realized and coordinate various societal interests while promoting collaboration between different actors in the county. We provide grants and support to various activities and ensure that laws and guidelines are followed.
