Data Center IT Technician

About the position

The role of Data Center IT Technician is diverse and combines both operational and tactical tasks. You will work closely with management leaders in planning technology shifts and capacity needs several years ahead, while also being involved in several of Svenska kraftnät’s ongoing change and development projects.

The work mainly encompasses Svenska kraftnät's data centers but also other technical facilities with critical IT infrastructure. In this role, you are expected to provide technical advice regarding data center infrastructure such as cooling, UPS power, and similar systems, as well as suggest improvements where possible.

Main responsibilities:

• Plan and perform physical maintenance, changes, and installations of hardware such as switches, servers, fiber equipment, as well as PDUs and racks.
• Install and route telecommunication and network cabling.
• Manage and lead work related to incoming cases.
• Be responsible for documentation in data centers and other technical areas.
• Perform tasks that may involve heavy lifting.

You will belong to a unit that is part of the department responsible for Svenska kraftnät's IT infrastructure and operations. The unit consists of employees who collectively are responsible for the operation, management, and development of Svenska kraftnät's critical data communication networks and associated technical facilities and data centers.

About you

Furthermore, you have a post-secondary education in electrical/telecommunications or equivalent knowledge acquired through work experience. You also have:

• At least 3 years of work experience in data centers.
• At least 3 years of experience in planning and performing physical maintenance, changes, and installations in IT environments.
• At least 3 years of experience in case management.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in Swedish and English.
• Driver's license B.

Meritorious competencies

• Education and/or experience in cooling, UPS power, and other data center infrastructure.
• Experience working in security-classified areas, such as protected objects.
• Experience in electrical and telecommunications installations, such as mounting terminal cabinets.
• Experience in work leadership.

• The position is located in Sundbyberg.
• Opportunity for remote work up to 50% when the work situation allows it. #LI-hybrid.
• Travel may occur in this position.
