About Us
Solna City is in an exciting phase of development where digitalization is a central part of business development. In the Digitalization and IT unit, 25 employees and several full-time consultants work closely together in central Solna. Here, we engage with the entire city's organization and drive digitalization issues where the operations are located. A large part of our IT operations is outsourced, which means close collaborations with IT partners. Together, we ensure both a stable, secure IT operation and the development of new, value-creating digital solutions.
We are currently looking for an engaged technical project manager for Digitalization and IT in Solna City. You will be part of a warm, competent, and cohesive team where a lot is happening in our journey towards a more digital and efficient Solna.

What Does the Job Entail?
As a project manager with us, you are responsible for driving some of Solna City's most important digitalization projects in areas such as education, care, technical management, or our support services. The role combines both strategic and operational work and involves close collaboration with operations, IT specialists, architects, and external suppliers. You will be a central person in delivering the right solutions on time, within budget, and with high quality.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Participating in workshops and creating consensus around goals, technical requirements, solution proposals, and implementation plans
- Developing IT technical specifications and acting as the link between operations and technology
- Leading implementation projects according to the city's project model – planning, following up, and reporting
- Coordinating internal teams and external suppliers
- Being responsible for implementation, testing, documentation, and commissioning
- Collaborating with architecture, security, and operations to ensure sustainable and stable solutions
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for an experienced IT project manager with a very good technical understanding and a strong ability to create structure, collaboration, and results in complex project environments.
You have:
- A relevant academic degree or equivalent experience
- Theoretical and practical experience of complex IT environments with high security requirements, including information security, risk and vulnerability analysis, and compliance with regulations such as GDPR and NIS2
- Good understanding of modern IT architectures, preferably including experience with cloud services and hybrid environments
- Knowledge of system integrations, APIs, and a basic understanding of IT infrastructure (networks, databases, platforms)
- Very good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written
Meritorious:
- Experience with larger digitalization projects, cloud/SaaS migrations, system changes, or implementation of mission-critical IT solutions
- Experience with procurement according to LOU
You are structured, solution-oriented, and confident in a central role in projects. You easily build trust and are used to both defining requirements and communicating technical solutions in close collaboration with architects, developers, and specialists. You work independently but also thrive in collaboration to drive the work forward.
