We are now looking for a Database Engineer with strong expertise in MS SQL for an expanding organization in Stockholm. You will be a central part of a comprehensive transformation journey aimed at building a modern, future-proof database platform with high demands on stability, security, and performance.

This is an opportunity for you who want to work technically deep, take ownership, and help shape how database services are delivered going forward.

As a Database Engineer, you will have overall responsibility for MS SQL as a service within the organization – from installation and configuration to lifecycle management, optimization, and continuous improvement.

You will work closely with development and DevOps teams to ensure that the database environment is stable, secure, and compliant in a mission-critical environment.

Main responsibilities:

• Install, administer, and troubleshoot MS SQL (2019 and 2022 – upcoming versions are a plus)

• Manage databases in Availability Groups and Windows Failover Cluster Service

• Ensure high availability, performance, and security

• Work with backup, restore, and disaster recovery

• Develop and improve automation, monitoring, and integrations

• Collaborate closely with development and DevOps teams for stable service delivery

We are looking for someone who:

• Has deep expertise in MS SQL and is comfortable in the role of DBA

• Has experience with Availability Groups and Windows Failover Cluster

• Has a good understanding of high availability and security requirements

• Is used to working in complex technical environments

• Has experience with Windows Server (a plus)

• Sees the value of automation and structured operations

Desirable experiences:

• Grafana

• PAM solutions

• VMware or other virtualization

The organization also works with PostgreSQL in environments with high demands for availability and security.

If you are curious and want to develop within PostgreSQL, there is an opportunity to eventually work with:

• PostgreSQL in High Availability environments

• Automation (e.g., Ansible and CI/CD)

• Kubernetes and modern container platforms

• Linux hardening and security work
