ABOUT THE POSITION

You will be part of a team of Cobol developers, project managers, and scrum masters, primarily working with government agencies and state-owned companies. The role involves taking responsibility for maintaining and developing central Cobol systems, which are crucial for our clients' operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Duties

In this role, you will work on developing and maintaining critical Cobol systems in a mainframe environment, as well as closely collaborating with customers and teams to deliver effective solutions.

• Continuous system development within the mainframe environment focusing on programming in Cobol and managing the DB2 database.
• Documentation of solutions, proposals, and system requirements to ensure clarity and understanding.
• Providing 2nd and 3rd line support, including troubleshooting and corrections in the system.
• Active collaboration with support teams, application specialists, and other partners to ensure efficiency and smooth operation.
• Developing a deep understanding of existing legacy applications and contributing to creating a technical roadmap for upgrades and the introduction of new technology.
• Close collaboration with customers and decision-makers to discuss and define new requirements and development opportunities.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

• Has experience in programming in Cobol. Both formal education and at least 2 years of experience working with Cobol programming.
• Has experience in programming in DB2 and experience working with SQL and/or DB2 databases.
• Has experience in system development in a mainframe environment.
• Experience in writing technical documentation.
• Previous experience with agile development methods (SCRUM, Kanban).
• Speaks and writes fluent Swedish and English, as required for the tasks.

It is a merit if you have

• Experience with transaction managers: IMS.
• Experience with TSO-ISPF.
• Experience with zOS.
• Experience with table maintenance and testing.
• Good knowledge of using mainframe tools.
• Experience in system architecture where dependencies exist with several different technologies, where a broad understanding of how systems are interconnected is a significant advantage.
