Professional Galaxy is looking for a Senior System Engineer – Embedded & FPGA on behalf of our client.

We are now seeking a highly experienced system engineer for a consulting assignment with our client in the defense industry. The assignment is suitable for you who work with the system engineering of advanced technical systems and have a good understanding of both software, FPGA, and hardware. The role is central to the development of robust and well-documented system solutions.

About the assignment In the role of system engineer, you will work with the system engineering of complex embedded systems. The focus is on developing, structuring, and documenting system design rather than primarily working with implementation. You will collaborate closely with both software, FPGA, and hardware developers and contribute a holistic perspective at the system level.

The work includes, among other things:

System engineering and system design of embedded systems Architecture and design work related to embedded software (C++) and FPGA solutions (VHDL) Collaboration between software, FPGA, and hardware Development and documentation of system and design documentation Contributing technical expertise in a safety-critical context Coding may occur but is not a requirement – however, the ability to clearly document and communicate design solutions is crucial.

Requirements To be considered for the assignment, we see that you have:

Very high seniority as a system engineer (level 4) Several years of experience in system engineering of embedded systems Good understanding of embedded software design in C++ Experience with FPGA and VHDL at the system level Hardware-near understanding and experience working cross-functionally Very good ability to document system architecture and design Experience working in complex and technically advanced environments

Meritorious:

Experience in signal processing
