Job Advertisement: Staff for Civil Duty Recreation Activities

Civil duty is the civilian equivalent of military service and aims to strengthen essential societal functions with personnel during heightened readiness and war.

Starting in 2026, young adults will be drafted for civil duty within municipal rescue services, and the first group of civil duty personnel will begin in the fall of 2027.

The Boarding School Section at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency's training unit in Revinge is now seeking a staff member with the main task of being responsible for the recreation activities of civil duty personnel during their long basic training. The role is linked to the agency's initiative to provide meaningful, varied, safe, and social leisure activities during their service. You will build a new role and structure as there is currently no similar existing operation.

Your Responsibilities and Tasks

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing recreational activities for civil duty personnel outside of regular training hours. The aim is to create social community, recovery, and meaningful leisure that contributes to well-being, motivation, and mental health.

Your tasks include, among others:

• planning and conducting social, cultural, and physical activities
• staffing and developing a soldier home-like meeting place
• being a present, safe, and adult contact person for civil duty personnel
• collaborating with educational activities, boarding school, and other staff
• contributing to order, well-being, and an inclusive climate
• conducting activities in the evenings and weekends according to schedule

Your Qualifications and Competencies

We are looking for someone who has:

• post-secondary education with a social focus, such as leisure pedagogy, social pedagogy, or equivalent education and experience deemed relevant by the employer
• experience working with young adults, groups, or in social services
• good knowledge of Swedish spoken and written, as well as basic English spoken
• a valid driver's license (B)

It is advantageous if you have:

• experience from recreational activities, association life, folk education, or defense-related activities

About the Employment

We offer you a permanent full-time position that begins with a probationary period.

Your place of employment will be Revinge, and travel may occur during the employment.

The Boarding School Section is responsible for course and conference services, student services, and receiving participants at the training unit in Revinge. The operation is conducted in close collaboration with the educational activities and plays an important role in the overall experience of the training period.
