The Role of Personal Assistant

As a personal assistant, you represent Hela Sveriges Assistans. In this role, you will complete an online training course on what it is like to work as a personal assistant. Together with the client and your colleagues, you will strive for good quality and adhere to the company's values and policies.

As a personal assistant, you are responsible for accessing information sent out by the head office and, if necessary, seeking information available on the website. For other questions, you should contact your supervisor or the head office. About Your Role as a Personal Assistant with Me

I am a woman over 60 living in an apartment in central Malmö. I use a power wheelchair due to a muscle disease and need assistance in daily living activities (ADL) and all household chores such as laundry, cleaning, etc. There are some things I can do myself, but it varies depending on my condition - for the rest, you will assist.

It is important that you are attentive, responsible, and unpretentious, that you want to see and understand my needs. You work proactively, and we help each other keep an overview of daily life. Communication is key, and a positive attitude and humor are also highly valued.

I have a dog, and dog care is a big part of my daily life; it is important that you are interested and willing to learn. We take courses, train, and go on long dog walks. An extra plus is if you have previous experience with dogs, but otherwise, I will teach you.

You should have a driver's license and driving experience. I have a car, a regular bicycle, and a cargo bike that you should be able to handle.

The application should include a complete CV and a personal letter. Before an employment offer, you must show an extract from the police criminal record.

Where is the assistance performed?

The assistance is performed where I am, and your shift starts and ends where I am - at home or out in the city.

Job Description

1 position on a schedule of 80 - 100%

The position has varying working hours during the day/evening, weekends, and awake nights.

We are also looking for hourly employees and summer substitutes.

Requirements

• Driver's license B

• Ability to ride a bicycle

• Proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written

• As the workplace has a dog, we require that you are not allergic to dogs

• Experience working as a personal assistant

Meritorious

We prefer that you have at least 2 years of experience as a personal assistant. Experience with dogs since there is an assistance dog. Also, experience working with a ventilator and cough machine.

Before we offer employment, you must show an unopened extract/digital mailbox from the police criminal record. We also request a valid Swedish work permit, such as a passport or approved work permit from the Migration Agency.

We train our employees to ensure the quality of personal assistance. All our new hires complete an online introductory training for personal assistants before their first working day or no later than one month after starting employment.
