We offer you an exciting and rewarding assignment with users belonging to PK1 according to LSS. In our operations, there are individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, or autism spectrum disorders who have complex support needs. Users may have difficulty understanding and learning certain things and need a lot of support to make themselves understood. This requires you as an employee to be attentive and understand each user's way of communicating. A large part of the work with us involves understanding and being responsive to the users' wishes. All users need some form of help and support in their personal care, which means that you will also perform care work. Driving is included in the job.

In the role of support assistant, you are expected to be involved in development work to achieve and work according to a clearly established pedagogical structure through a team-based approach. The structure should be based on defined roles for each employee within the LSS housing, where you, together with support educators and care educators, have an important role. As a support assistant, it is your task to work with and develop conditions for self-determination, participation, and integrity for the individual user. You work based on implementation plans that describe how the interventions should be carried out for each user and document ongoing what happens. Together with other employees, you are responsible for planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating the interventions.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a vocational degree from the health and care program, child and leisure program, or other equivalent education that the employer assesses as equivalent. It is an advantage if you also have post-secondary studies in disabilities or social work.

You have at least 2 years of experience working with the target group. You need to have knowledge of pedagogical methods, i.e., low-arousal responses, AAC/TAAC, and clear pedagogy. It is an advantage if you have experience working with challenging behavior based on a low-arousal approach and it is beneficial if you have practical experience working with other methods.

We are looking for someone with a pedagogical mindset, who is quality-conscious, meticulous, and keen to live up to goals and intentions according to the LSS law. To thrive in your professional role, you should have good self-awareness and a positive attitude. You should have a strong will and drive to promote people's development based on their conditions.

You have professional maturity and are responsible and want to be part of developing our operations. We prefer that you have previous experience working in a team.

Furthermore, we see it as necessary that you have a B driver's license, computer skills, knowledge of social documentation, and good proficiency in Swedish in both spoken and written forms.

About the Workplace

Svedalavägen is a group home in unit 6, department LSS housing. The group home is a smaller residence where a few users with complex support needs live. At the workplace, we are a large team of support assistants, support educators, and care educators who work closely together. Teamwork is crucial for us. We work with continuous improvements where everyone in the work team is equally important. The operation is currently undergoing a change, where new working methods and proven practices will be implemented.

In the Functional Support Administration, over 3000 employees work together to create and develop even better support and services for people with disabilities. Our operations are within LSS, social psychiatry, personal assistance, escort and relief services, and health and medical care. Severely ill children who are cared for at home are also included in our mission.
