Analyst in Energy Systems

About us

Your tasks

The role involves working with qualified investigative and analytical work within the various parts of the energy system. The work may involve both deepening within a specific area and analyses of overarching issues where the entire development of the energy system is in focus. You will analyze energy policy goals and instruments, the development of the energy market, and external factors affecting the energy system. You will also help develop forecasts and scenarios for future development. An important part of the role is to assess the societal consequences of different choices and weigh effects against each other. You will write reports and decision-making documents and communicate results and conclusions both internally and externally. The work is interdisciplinary, where you take personal responsibility while collaborating closely with colleagues within the agency and in dialogue with external actors.

Qualifications

In this role, we are looking for you who are at the beginning of your career. You have an academic degree equivalent to at least three years of full-time studies with a focus on energy systems, energy technology, economics, political science, or another area that the Swedish Energy Agency deems relevant. Furthermore, you have at least six months of relevant work experience in the energy field. You have good skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English, as well as good knowledge of IT systems and programs.

It is an advantage if you have experience analyzing issues related to the transformation of Sweden's energy system, as well as working with forecasts and scenarios. If you have also worked within a government agency, that is also an advantage.

Good to know

The position is a permanent employment with an initial six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement. Positions within the Swedish Energy Agency may be placed in a security class, which means security clearance and background checks according to the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Upon permanent employment, it may be relevant to be assigned to the agency in case of war.
