The association Kraftens hus Sjuhärad is looking for someone who wants to help drive and develop activities for cancer-affected individuals in Sjuhärad.

Kraftens hus Sjuhärad is a meeting place for those affected by cancer - for everyone who has been impacted by a cancer diagnosis - whether as a patient, a relative of someone affected, or someone who has lost a loved one to cancer.

The meeting place complements the healthcare system's responsibilities by focusing on social, emotional, physical, and practical support through lectures, activities, and information.

Kraftens hus Sjuhärad operates as a non-profit association with financial support from, among others, the Västra Götaland region.

At the national level, Kraftens hus Sweden has been established to coordinate and support local Kraftens hus associations and new initiatives in all healthcare regions of the country. From September 1, 2024, a secretary-general will be in place to lead and develop the national operations.

We are looking for an operations manager who can lead the operational work and contribute to the development and future operation of the activities. We seek someone who is passionate about improving conditions and quality of life for all those affected by cancer in one way or another.

Your responsibilities as an operations manager include:

· Overall responsibility for the development and content of the operations in collaboration with the association's board

· Lead and participate in daily operations

· Personnel and work environment responsibility

· Budget responsibility

· Marketing of the operations

· Work on financing the operations in close collaboration with the association's board

· Collaboration with patient and relative associations within the cancer field

· Collaboration with other community actors

· Reporting responsibility to the association's board

· Adjunct member of the association's board

Qualifications:

· Healthcare education or education in social work at the college/university level, as well as experience from working within cancer care in the region or personal experience as a patient/relative.

· Education in psychosocial issues and/or counseling support is an advantage.

· Experience in leadership and operational development.

· Familiarity with managing finances and budget issues.

Personal qualities:

· Good ability to meet people in crisis as well as individuals with different backgrounds and needs.

· Creative and curious.

· Driven and communicative.

· Good collaboration skills, a “team player”.

· Solution-oriented and structured.

The assignment is challenging, and a large part of the work involves making the operations sustainable and working towards long-term financing, as well as spreading the word to all cancer-affected individuals in Sjuhärad. Collaboration with other Kraftens hus in Sweden is included in the assignment.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment for 1 year, with the possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent position.

Working hours can be discussed.
