We review all operations of the City of Gothenburg on behalf of elected auditors. Therefore, at the audit office, you work with issues that affect many people. You participate in societal development through audits that form the basis for change, discussion, and decisions at the highest political level in the municipality. The work is stimulating, varied, and provides deep knowledge of the municipality's various operations. You work with knowledgeable and engaged colleagues and have close contacts with the elected auditors. You also have contacts with both politicians and civil servants in the municipality. We are Sweden's largest office for municipal auditing, in terms of the number of employees and the amount of auditing we conduct. We carry out almost all operational audits ourselves while the financial audits are performed by auditing firms. Our office is located in central Gothenburg.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The audit office has undergone an organizational change, from two audit departments to three. We are now looking for managers for two audit departments. The assignment means that you are responsible for coordinating, planning, quality assuring, and reporting the annual operational audit of just over eight committees and eight companies in the city. You are also responsible for quality assurance of audits that we conduct in the form of projects, which we do when it concerns complex areas and/or involves several of the city's operations. You have personnel responsibility for just over eight employees. You are very close to the department's audit work and have a close and ongoing dialogue with your employees. The assignment also includes coordinating the department's ongoing reconciliations with elected auditors. You have great opportunities to influence how the audit assignment should be carried out, and you work in very close collaboration with department heads for the other two audit departments. Together, you work to ensure that the operations are directed towards the set goals in the audit and operational plan.

As a manager, you are part of the audit office's management team and report directly to the audit director. In your role, you are expected to actively participate in the office's overall development work. At the audit office, you have good opportunities for professional development, and we constantly work on developing our working methods and approaches. You also have the opportunity to participate in the development of municipal auditing at the national level.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with at least 3 years of higher education in, for example, political science, public administration, economics, or another relevant field. You have good knowledge of social science methods and qualified analytical and/or investigative work. Experience in auditing is a requirement. It is advantageous if you have managerial experience and experience working in municipal operations.

You are used to working with high demands for delivery reliability and stringency. You express yourself well in speech and writing, are results-oriented, and can prioritize. The City of Gothenburg has formulated leadership criteria for the city's managers, which will be of particular importance in the selection process. The criteria are: analytical, change-oriented, ability to see the big picture, ability to influence others, and socially secure.

You can effectively identify and analyze the core of a problem and propose possible solutions. You have the ability to see connections and can draw logical conclusions based on limited and/or complex information. You see opportunities for change and create situations where new ideas and proposals can develop. You can oversee your own area of responsibility and place the significance of your own operations in a larger context.

You are clear in your communication, collaborative, and create good relationships with others through a positive and flexible approach.
