The Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Department of Medicine

The Department of Medicine has a broad operation for the entire internal medicine area, both within acute assignments, inpatient care, and outpatient care.

The department includes planned outpatient activities in general internal medicine, thrombosis clinic, gastroenterology, hematology, cardiology, diabetes, and osteoporosis. The hospital also has outpatient activities in surgery, orthopedics, ENT, ophthalmology, and gynecology.

Within inpatient care, there are three internal medicine wards, one with a focus on cardiology, one on stroke, and one with a focus on general internal medicine. The hospital also has an ICU department and a connected intermediate care module. There is also a surgery and an orthopedics department.

The Alingsås Hospital emergency department is open from 08:00 to 21:00. The medicine section is jointly staffed by emergency physicians and the physicians from the medicine clinic.

Description

We are now looking for three ST physicians who want to join us at the Department of Medicine, Alingsås Hospital. Do you thrive in a smaller hospital with short decision-making paths and a pleasant work environment? Then the Department of Medicine at Alingsås Hospital is the right workplace for you. With us, you get the advantages of a small hospital but with proximity to our larger healthcare neighbors in the region. You will be part of a well-knit group of doctors consisting of experienced specialists and ST physicians. The operation is characterized by responsibility, collaboration, and good community where you work in teams with many knowledgeable colleagues. Collaboration across specialist and operational boundaries is well established.

Your duties will include a varied job in both wards and the intermediate care module. Work in the emergency department during both day and evening shifts is included. When the emergency department is closed at night, you will remain on call at the hospital and be responsible for the inpatients, with support from the on-call physician at home. In the medicine outpatient clinic, you will, under supervision, take care of patients with various internal medical diseases.

As an ST physician in Alingsås, you will receive broad clinical training combined with educational activities such as courses and internal training. With us, you have scheduled supervision and study time.

Qualifications

You who are applying are a licensed physician with completed AT or BT training. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement for the position. You see team-based work as a given and want to participate in development work together with colleagues and other professions with the aim of providing good care but also developing the operation towards future healthcare assignments.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
