As a Leadership Specialist, you will be placed in the HR department, which is part of the university administration at Uppsala University.

The department consists of about 50 employees distributed across four units. The overall mission of the department is to contribute to making Uppsala University an attractive employer. We provide support and advice on strategic and operational HR issues and represent the employer regarding employer policies and conditions. You will have your workplace in Segerstedthuset, where the university administration is gathered. Here, we work in modern facilities just a stone's throw from Uppsala Castle, the Botanical Garden, and Carolina Rediviva. Job Responsibilities

The HR department offers support and development initiatives to managers and academic leaders at the individual, group, and organizational levels. We continuously work to develop and ensure the quality of our support, and currently, a change and development process is underway where our methods, training, and content in support are being reviewed to better meet the needs of the organization. As a Leadership Specialist, you will be an active and co-creative part of this work.

In your daily work, you will support and develop the university's managers and academic leaders and contribute to strengthening their competence in the role of employer, operational manager, and leader. You will plan, coordinate, and conduct management and leadership training as well as other development initiatives both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues and external actors. The role also includes mentoring and coaching managers and academic leaders both individually and in groups, as well as conducting initiatives for management team development. You will work in a team with other employees in the department and are expected to actively contribute to joint development and change efforts.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree in behavioral sciences or equivalent competence deemed comparable by the employer, combined with relevant work experience for the position. You have several years of current experience in conducting management and leadership training, providing consultative support and mentoring to managers, leaders, and management teams, as well as experience in change management and developing managers' and leaders' ability to lead digital transformation. You have good and current knowledge of leadership, management, organizational psychology, a systems theory approach, and organizational and social work environment. You are also well-grounded in relevant research and proven experience with the ability to translate theory into practically applicable development and training initiatives in organizations. Documented strong skills in communicating and expressing yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English are required. Good digital maturity with curiosity about how new technology, digital learning environments, and working methods can be used to develop and strengthen management and leadership training as well as other development initiatives is important.

Desirable/meritorious

  • Experience in planning and conducting management and leadership training as well as development initiatives within the university and higher education sector.
  • Own managerial experience.
  • Experience in designing and developing e-learning.

About the Position

The position is permanent, and a probationary period may apply. The scope is full-time. Start date according to agreement. Place of employment: Uppsala.
