The County Administrative Board's Role in the Election
During general elections, the County Administrative Board has many tasks, but the largest and perhaps most important is to count all votes to produce a final election result.
It is an intense but very enjoyable and important job, and we hope you can join us.
Job Responsibilities
Working as a vote counter is an administrative task, not a political one. By participating in this work, you contribute to conducting a fair election and, in the long run, upholding the democratic system.
You will work during the final vote counting after the elections for the parliament, regional council, and municipal council in 2026. You will work for two weeks after election day on September 13, counting all ballots in the county and tallying all personal votes.
You will work in a counting group with a team leader who is permanently employed by the County Administrative Board and other temporarily hired vote counters.
As a vote counter, you will be offered work between September 14 and September 27. The work can be monotonous, is intensive, and requires flexibility. Working hours are estimated to be from 08:00 to 17:00, but overtime may occur.
Qualifications
You must be eligible to vote in the election to be considered for the position.
Previous experience in vote counting and/or working in a polling station is an advantage.
If you are running for any of the elections or are politically active, working for a party's campaign, or clearly representing a party, you may be considered biased and therefore cannot work with vote counting.
You need to have good collaboration skills; it is important that you can follow procedures. You need to be meticulous and flexible.
You represent the County Administrative Board in a trustworthy manner. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
Conditions
You will be temporarily employed (special fixed-term employment) by the County Administrative Board of Uppsala County from September 14 to September 27.
Application
Your application should include a short CV. You will also need to answer some selection questions and write a brief motivation for why you want to participate as a vote counter.
The County Administrative Board actively works to be an authority free from discrimination and values the qualities that diversity brings to the organization.

Information meetings/group interviews will take place in April for those who proceed in the recruitment process, and invitations will be sent via email.
Welcome with your application!
