Planning Officer at F 16, Uppsala Garrison
F 16 is responsible for Uppsala garrison and the operation of Uppsala airport. The wing is also responsible for monitoring Swedish airspace around the clock, all year round, and leads the Air Force's combat aircraft in the air. You will be part of a military organization undergoing significant change and development due to the geopolitical situation and Sweden's NATO membership.
About the Unit
The 163rd Garrison Battalion consists of the Logistics Company, the Garrison Company, and soon also the Training Company, which together create the conditions for assigned units to focus on fulfilling their primary tasks. The battalion's role and tasks are evolving rapidly to meet the new challenges that Sweden and the Armed Forces face.
The placement of this position will be at the battalion's staff but will work closely with the command and companies. The staff, like the battalion, consists of all parts of the military profession; officers, soldiers, and civilians. Together we develop the battalion to meet the tasks assigned to us.
Main Responsibilities
The position of planning officer offers a job at a garrison that is under development, which means that the tasks are important, complex, and you will have significant personal responsibility.
As a planning officer, you will work on the battalion's development of Uppsala garrison, which largely derives from Uppsala garrison's development plan. Some of the tasks are closely related to the Armed Forces' infrastructure areas such as buildings, parking lots, shooting ranges, and other areas belonging to the garrison. The work involves close collaboration with activities both within and outside the garrison. The planning officer also contributes to the battalion's main tasks in mobilization, war unit development, and host nation support through staff work, which means that the position includes parts of general staff duties.
Within the Armed Forces, we always work as a team. Our organization is based on cooperation, adaptability, and a shared responsibility for the whole. This means that we are all prepared to support each other, sometimes even outside our own competence and comfort zone. Therefore, as an employee, you may sometimes face new types of tasks. This is a natural part of working in the Armed Forces that serves both the agency and the employee's development well, and you will never be given a task that you do not have the means to complete.
