The County Administrative Board's Role in the Election
During general elections, the County Administrative Board has many tasks, but the largest and perhaps most important is to count all the votes to produce a final election result.
This is an intense but very enjoyable and important job, and we hope you want to participate.
Job Responsibilities
By working with vote counting, you contribute to conducting a fair election and, in the long run, upholding the democratic system. This is an administrative role, not a political one.
The tasks within the control function involve reviewing and ensuring the quality of the County Administrative Board's final count. You will work in a larger group that collectively performs the work.
As a vote counter, you will be offered work between September 14 and September 27, 2026. The work is intense and requires flexibility. Working hours are estimated to be from 08:00 to 17:00, but overtime may occur.
Qualifications
You need to be eligible to vote in the election to be considered for the position. You should have previous experience in vote counting. You should have prior experience in final vote counting in the form of vote counting, assessment of votes, registration of election results, and quality assurance of election results.
If you are running for any of the elections yourself or are politically active, working for a party's campaign, or clearly representing a party, you may be considered biased and thus cannot work with vote counting.
You need to have good collaboration skills; it is important that you can follow procedures. You need to be meticulous and flexible.
You represent the County Administrative Board in a trustworthy manner. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
Conditions
You will be temporarily employed by the County Administrative Board of Uppsala County. The main employment period will be between September 14 and September 25. A few, preliminarily two people, will have a temporary employment between September 14 and October 9.
A security review with a background check will be conducted according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) before a decision on employment is made. In some cases, Swedish citizenship is required.
Application
Your application should include a short CV. You will also need to answer some selection questions and write a brief motivation for why you want to participate as a vote counter.
The County Administrative Board actively works to be an authority free from discrimination and values the qualities that diversity brings to the organization.
