Job Responsibilities

Are you an engaged and experienced support pedagogue looking to work closely with operations and development in social psychiatry? Do you enjoy supporting colleagues, contributing to quality, and seeing change as an opportunity? Then this might be the right position for you.

Housing Support Hisingen 1 implements decisions regarding housing support focusing on social psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, and comorbidity. The unit consists of about 20 employees, including one support pedagogue. We operate from our facility at Länsmanstorget with good transport links. The catchment area includes Biskopsgården, Länsmansgården, and Torslanda. We are one of four housing support units in Hisingen.

As a support pedagogue, you play a central role in the operation. You support and guide the workgroup and provide methodological support in daily activities. In close collaboration with the unit manager and planner, you work with the social services' processes, methods, and documentation. The role requires flexibility and an interest in development and change work, as the operation continuously develops its working methods.

Your main job responsibilities:

  • Support and guide the workgroup based on the needs of the operation and use pedagogical methods such as ESL and MI.
  • Receive and distribute cases in Treserva and hold regular case reviews with employees.
  • In close collaboration with the planner and unit manager, contribute to case distribution.
  • Follow up and provide methodological support in social documentation and ensure that the interventions provided to users maintain high quality.
  • Collaborate with external actors and other units to ensure that users receive the best possible intervention.
  • In addition to the pedagogical assignment, supportive work directly with users is also included in the role of support assistant.

Working hours are primarily during the day, but earlier and later interventions may occur.

Qualifications

For the position of support pedagogue, a post-secondary specialization in the area of disabilities is required, comprising at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits with two years of work experience with individuals with disabilities. The education should include relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other training deemed equivalent by the employer.

Communication and documentation are important parts of the job, which requires you to have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 may be offered to take a language test through the testing user Educateit.

It is advantageous if you have worked as a support pedagogue and have good knowledge and experience in social psychiatry as well as good knowledge and experience of evidence-based methods included in national guidelines. Experience with MI (Motivational Interviewing), ESL (An Independent Life), AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), LAB (Low Arousal Approach), and IBIC (Individual's Needs in Center) is also valuable. We also consider it advantageous if you have previous experience working with the target group within NPF. Additionally, experience working with addiction and homelessness issues is a plus. Furthermore, a B driver's license is also advantageous.

You have a good understanding of how individuals absorb knowledge and their different conditions. You adapt the way you convey your message to the recipient. You plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively. You ensure that the work is completed on time and follow up on the results. You are motivated to learn new things and develop. You come up with new ideas and take the initiative for improvements. You actively monitor developments in your professional field and regularly reflect on what needs to be developed in your operation. You can see your work as part of a larger context and understand how it affects and is affected by other parts of the organization.
