Do you want to make a real difference in people's lives? Then you should apply for a summer job as a social worker within the elderly authority of Gothenburg City.

We are currently looking for summer colleagues in the Hisingen and Centrum districts, as well as in our planning units. When you submit your application, you will have the opportunity to choose the specialization that attracts you the most. The summer period runs from June to August (approx. week 25 - week 33).

• Hisingen or Centrum District

In the role of a social worker within a district, you are responsible for investigating, assessing resources, and determining the need for assistance for individuals in need of social care. You follow up, evaluate, and reassess already granted interventions, always focusing on the individual's participation and influence. You collaborate with various professionals and partners at the individual, group, and organizational levels, including colleagues, home care, nursing homes, healthcare, and other social services. In Gothenburg City, we work with LOV (Law on Freedom of Choice). Your meetings will vary in complexity based on both physical, mental, and social needs. The individuals you meet may have cognitive impairments, mental health issues, substance abuse, comorbidity, or be vulnerable in other ways, and social work often takes place in the individual's home.

• Planning Units

Here, you primarily work on assessing the need for support in connection with discharge from hospitals and planning for a safe return home, in accordance with SOL (Social Services Act). You will collaborate with the region, primary care, and municipal primary care in connection with admissions and discharges based on individual needs. The planning units follow up on short-term decisions until the person leaves the short-term care, or is granted a place in a nursing home.

Regardless of which specialization you choose, you will receive trustworthy leadership, methodological guidance, an individually tailored introduction, and a mentor to help you quickly adapt to the role. We welcome your engagement and expertise!

About You

Requirements:

• A degree in social work or another comparable higher education that the employer deems suitable. We are also looking for those who have completed semester 5 of the Social Work Program and have completed their practical training.
• You have knowledge of applicable legislation in the Social Services Act and the Administrative Procedure Act.

Meritorious:

• Driver's license (B) to be able to make home visits.
• Experience with the admission and discharge process from inpatient healthcare.

Personal Competencies:

To fit the role, you need to be structured and efficient with your time, as well as show respect and consideration for people in your professional role. You need to demonstrate respect and consideration in your interactions with others and have a positive attitude towards those you meet in your role. You should also be collaborative and organized to achieve your own and shared goals. Within the framework of your assignment, you should be comfortable making independent decisions.
