Job Responsibilities

You will work as a special education teacher for grades F-3 in collaboration with educators and other staff. Your responsibilities include teaching students, both individually and in groups, assessments, observations of individual children, students, and groups, mentoring staff, and school development within student health. You will work on developing learning environments and conduct pedagogical investigations, design adaptations and action plans together with educators, and collaborate with guardians and external actors such as child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP) and habilitation. You will be part of the student health team together with the school nurse, counselor, school psychologist, and school management. Participation in operational and methodological development and providing support to the management in working with students in need of special support is also part of the role.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed primary school teacher with a special education degree for work in grades F-3. Previous experience as a special education teacher is an advantage. You need to have a good understanding of the school's governing documents and the ability to apply them in your daily work. It is important that you have strong didactic and pedagogical skills and knowledge of relevant digital tools. You are creative and can adapt your approach and pedagogical methods and techniques based on the individual student's needs or the needs of the student group. Of course, you have a professional attitude and work towards building good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school. You are a forward-thinking person, a good role model for your colleagues who dares to take initiative and strives for progress.

Karl Johansskolan is a F-3 school, one of Malmö's oldest and smallest schools, part of the Linnéskolan principal area, with approximately 220 students. The school is centrally located in Limhamn. We work to ensure that all students have the right to develop according to their abilities, to gain knowledge in a calm and safe environment, and to be treated with respect. The after-school program is integrated into the school's premises, and we have a holistic view of the students' learning environment. Everyone working at Karl Johansskolan collaborates closely, and teamwork across boundaries is strong. We work together to ensure that the school is a safe workplace with a conducive atmosphere.
