Frostaskolan is located in the central parts of Hörby and is a K-9 school with approximately 550 students. The school is divided into two units: a K-6 part with about 280 students and a 7-9 unit. The school is within walking distance to Lågehallarna and Lågedamsbadet, where a large part of the physical education takes place. It is also easy to access nature from the school.

At the school, we have a high level of qualification and competence among our teachers, with the goal that all students will succeed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Hörby Municipality is now strengthening the work with students' achievement in Swedish and mathematics by hiring special education teachers for our K-6 schools. This initiative aims to further improve the quality of teaching, increase equity, and ensure that more students meet the knowledge goals. The special education teachers will work closely with students and educators with both preventive and individualized measures.

As a special education teacher with us, you will work closely with school leadership, teachers, and the student health team to create a safe and accessible learning environment. You will be part of a team of four special education teachers at the school, where your position will focus on grades K-3. You will also play an important role in mentoring colleagues and contributing special educational expertise. Additionally, you will contribute your expertise to the systematic quality work.

The main job responsibilities are to:

• Teach students in need of special support individually or in small groups
• Develop and establish educational investigations, action plans, and evaluate these
• Collaborate with colleagues, student health, school leadership, guardians, and other external actors
• Contribute to the school's development work regarding accessible teaching and inclusive learning environments

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

• Licensed teacher with a special education degree focusing on Swedish and Swedish as a second language
• At least 5 years of documented experience with good results, working with students in need of special support

Other qualifications:

• You have a relational approach towards students and guardians
• You are clear, structured, and have a solution-focused working method
• You have good collaboration skills and can build on success factors in working with students
• Further education in subjects and/or didactics, as well as participation in research projects, is an advantage
