JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Hörby Municipality is now strengthening the work with students' achievement in Swedish and mathematics by hiring special educators for our F6 schools. The initiative aims to further enhance the quality of teaching, increase equity, and ensure that more students reach the knowledge goals. The special educators will work closely with students and educators with both preventive and individualized interventions. The job specification includes a teaching license and documented experience with good results in mathematics and/or Swedish instruction. Further education in the subjects and/or didactics, as well as participation in research projects, is meritorious.

As a special educator with us, you will work closely with school management, teachers, and the student health team to create a safe and accessible learning environment. As a special educator focused on mathematics, you will primarily work with students in grades 1-3 to early identify signals from students who are concerned about achieving their goals. You will work both preventively and remedially in, for example, smaller groups, co-teaching systems, and mentoring of teaching colleagues. Interventions will occur both in smaller groups and individually, depending on the student's needs. Your mission is to contribute to ensuring that every student has the best possible conditions to reach the knowledge goals.

The main job responsibilities are to:

• Teach students in need of special support
• Design and follow up on individual adaptations
• Collaborate with the principal, subject teachers, student health, and guardians

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a licensed teacher with a special education degree in mathematics. You have at least 5 years of teaching experience with students in need of special support, and those years should be recent. You should be able to demonstrate good results in school development and goal achievement.
• Is clear, structured, and has a solution-focused approach.
• Has good collaboration skills and enjoys working together for the best of the students.
• Has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
