The Child and Adolescent Center Västerbotten is a regional clinic with approximately 400 employees and is responsible for all specialized care in the region for children and adolescents aged 0–18 years. We operate in Umeå, Skellefteå, and Lycksele. Medical secretaries are present at all locations and play a significant role in the care chain.

In Umeå, we have three inpatient departments; Children 2 focusing on general pediatrics, Children 3 specializing in hematological and oncological care, and Neonatal ICU, an intensive care unit where premature infants are cared for.

We are now looking for a medical secretary to join our secretarial team at Norrlands University Hospital (NUS) in Umeå. The team is located in newly renovated and bright premises close to our newly renovated children's clinic. With us, you will work with varied tasks and also have opportunities for further education and personal development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now seeking a colleague who will primarily work with general pediatrics within our inpatient secretarial group. In addition, you will also be part of the outpatient secretarial group at the Child and Adolescent Center in Umeå. We value flexibility and collaborate to solve challenges in the operation together. Therefore, you and your colleagues in the team support each other where it is needed most.

The work offers stimulating and varied tasks where you will work with care documentation in the form of writing medical records, patient administration, diagnosis coding, and DRG registration, as well as handling referrals, medical records, and 1177.

If you do not already have training in diagnosis classification, we will grant this training for you, as it constitutes an important part of your work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is an educated medical secretary or healthcare administrator, or someone who is soon to complete one of these programs. The work requires good knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Experience with Cosmic and diagnosis classification is an advantage.

We seek someone who is self-driven, responsible, and solution-oriented. You have a good ability to prioritize and structure your work. You enjoy varied tasks, are flexible, and open to changes and development in your work. You find it easy to collaborate with different professional categories and are not afraid to take your own initiatives.
