JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Warm welcome to Hagavik School - Växjö Municipality's newest secondary school with new fresh premises. We opened our doors in August 2024. This school year we have 12 classes, but next year we will expand with an additional 3 classes, meaning we will have about 400 students.

We work to provide students with good learning environments with the student's best interests in focus. We help each other find solutions that benefit the students and help them develop both socially and academically.

We value good communication between school and home. From the school, we want to offer all guardians a good insight into and a good collaboration regarding the students' school situation. It is important to us that parents feel their children's education is significant for the future, which is a success factor for them to succeed in school.

We are looking for a teacher for teaching textile crafts in grades 7-9. The teaching of textile and wood and metal crafts is scheduled in parallel, which means that two craft teachers "share" a class and teach in half classes. We share premises with a special needs school, which means you will also have a colleague in their textile crafts teacher. You will be a mentor together with another colleague for students in one of the school's classes.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed teacher with qualifications for teaching textile crafts at the secondary level. The position suits you who are attentive, flexible, have good collaboration skills, and a positive view of students. We place great importance on your personal qualities and value the ability to meet students based on their varying needs. We would like you to have experience with similar tasks.

We believe that you:

• find it easy to communicate in both speech and writing and are comfortable making new contacts and building relationships. You have good collaboration skills, a positive willingness to develop the operations, you can see opportunities and work independently as well as take your own initiatives.
• have a conscious thought about your role as an educator and are a clear leader in the classroom who works structured according to applicable governing documents.
• create a safe learning environment in the classroom characterized by good study conditions and a trusting climate.
• are innovative and find teaching methods that suit each student's learning style, which also develops the students, the operations, and yourself.

As a teacher with us, you are also expected to participate in collegial learning, and it is important that you enjoy collaborating with others, both with subject colleagues and with other colleagues in the work team, student health, or at the youth center.
