JOB DESCRIPTION
Welcome to Ringsberg School - we are looking for a student coordinator! As a student coordinator, you will be organizationally part of the 4-9 working group. You will work alongside teachers and relieve them in their roles as mentors for students. You will also collaborate with the school's other student coordinators, the principal, and the student health team.
This position includes having mentoring responsibilities for students in grades 6-9, which means following the student’s learning processes academically and socially. You will have development discussions with students and be the contact person for guardians. You will talk to students individually and in groups to motivate and support them in their study situations and well-being at school. You may also work as a resource in different classes. You will work with the curriculum's core values, participate in student health meetings, and play an important role in the school's equal treatment team.
In this role, you will primarily work with students in two classes, which means about 50 students, some of whom will need more support. The work requires great flexibility and an understanding of what students, classes, and the organization need. This may involve discussions and interventions regarding attendance, structural support for students, conflict management, collaboration with other authorities, lessons on core values, investigations of harassment, extra meetings with students and guardians, communication and cooperation with student health staff, and planning of vacation school activities. You will conduct lessons in life skills for students. Your work requires the ability to document and follow up. You will collaborate with others but take significant personal responsibility for ensuring the above is carried out.
With a holistic view of the students' school day, the position may also include work at the after-school center - which applies to all staff working at Ringsberg School.
Ringsberg School is a F9 school with about 270 students in central Växjö. The school's pedagogical platform is aesthetic learning processes, which have been recognized both locally and nationally. Over the years, several national and European awards have been given to the school. The operations and teaching at Ringsberg School are dynamic and forward-looking.
Participation, engagement, and personal responsibility are key principles in the school's work. With us, the working group is important, and the teams are very independent in designing teaching based on aesthetic learning processes at Ringsberg School. All staff at the school also work together, for example, with the school's annual goals or with annual themes from a F-9 perspective.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree in behavioral science, social work, sociology, or pedagogy. You have experience working with children and young people, preferably in academic and social development, and have the ability to meet students in need of special support.
We believe you are clear, engaged, relationship-building, action-oriented, flexible, solution-focused, and responsible. You can work in a team but also take responsibility for making independent decisions. You are interested in aesthetic learning processes and your own professional development. You have the ability to create a good working atmosphere with engagement, curiosity, and safety in the group, and you see and meet students' different needs based on their various conditions.
Welcome with your application!
