JOB DESCRIPTION

Welcome to Hovshagaskolan, a F-6 school with an after-school program. We have about 350 students and 40 staff members. The school is located in Hovshaga in Växjö, surrounded by green areas and forests, providing excellent opportunities for outdoor education and movement. There are convenient bike paths and good public transport connections to the city center.

We have two classes in each grade, where the grade teams work closely together and have classrooms near each other. We work with co-teaching and have developed a collegial learning and professional development culture in recent years, where teaching is at the center and deepened through experience exchange and current research.

The school's student health team meets every week. We work proactively, preventively, and supportively, always with the student's best interest at heart. The school also has a safety group that works proactively and preventively for safety and well-being. We are now strengthening our student health efforts further and are looking for a driven special education teacher who wants to contribute to our continued development.

As a special education teacher with us, you will play a central role in creating accessible learning environments and ensuring that all students receive the right guidance and stimulation. You will primarily work with grades 4-6 and become part of a strong team along with our special educator and another special education teacher. You have a genuine interest in creating good conditions for all students' learning and development, and you are confident in both student-facing work and collaboration with colleagues.

You will be a key piece in our work with guidance and stimulation, contributing to making interventions visible and effective in the classrooms. By translating analyses of students' needs and results into concrete pedagogical strategies, you will enhance the quality of teaching and create conditions for all students to develop and reach their full potential. Your work will be an important link between student health, teaching, and the school's overall development work.

Your main tasks include:

• Providing targeted special pedagogical support, both individually and in small groups, focusing on students' knowledge development.
• Documentation work such as conducting pedagogical investigations, as well as following up and evaluating adaptations and interventions.
• Being a support for work teams and individual teachers in matters concerning accessible learning environments, extra adaptations, and special support.
• Actively participating in the EHT work, where you and your colleagues drive a systematic and preventive student health effort.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed teacher with a special education degree. We primarily see that you have a focus on mathematics, but we also welcome those with a focus on reading and writing and experience in the field.

• You have a warm and professional demeanor, are clear in your communication, and build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
• You find it easy to work in teams, are structured, and can take your own initiative. You organize your work independently but also together with others. You are engaged in teaching, mentoring, and school development, and actively contribute your expertise to the student health team.
• You stay updated on current research and use it to develop both yourself and the organization.
