JOB DESCRIPTION

Welcome to Ringsberg School! We are looking for a Spanish teacher to teach the school’s students in grades 6-9.

Ringsberg School is a F9 school with about 270 students in central Växjö. The school’s pedagogical platform is aesthetic learning processes, which have been recognized both locally and nationally. Over the years, several national and European awards have been given to the school. The activities and teaching at Ringsberg School are dynamic and forward-looking. We have been awarded world-class school libraries several times. We work systematically with student health and have recently focused particularly on student attendance in school, including through the employment of student coordinators. This means that class teachers in grades 4-9 have real relief in the part of the assignment that involves mentoring students.

Participation, engagement, and personal responsibility are key principles in the school’s work. Since the school started in 2000, teachers have been employed on a vacation basis, meaning they work 40 hours a week and apply for vacation when needed. Teachers are well acquainted with the school’s governing documents and can therefore work both interdisciplinary and subject-specific. Another success factor is a holistic view of the children’s school day, which means that several teachers work part-time in the after-school program. With us, the work team is important, and the teams are very independent in designing teaching based on aesthetic learning processes at Ringsberg School. All staff at the school also work together, for example, with the school’s annual goals or with annual themes from a F-9 perspective. Your contribution will be important in creative and developing discussions about teaching and learning.

We are looking for a Spanish teacher to teach Ringsberg School’s students in grades 6-9 in Spanish. You will also have language collection, which is our students' first encounter with modern languages. This is 20 minutes/week in grades 3-5, to motivate for the upcoming language choice in grade 6. The position may also include interdisciplinary work over time.

The position is 50% and is permanent. You will collaborate with other teachers in modern languages to offer students qualitative language instruction.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a certified teacher with qualifications to teach Spanish. It is also advantageous if you have qualifications in other subjects.

You are clear, engaged, proactive, flexible, solution-focused, and responsible. You have good collaborative skills with students, parents, and colleagues. You can work in a team but also take responsibility for making independent decisions. You are interested in aesthetic learning processes and your own professional development. You have the ability to meet students in need of special support.
