JOB DESCRIPTION

Welcome to Hagavik School - Växjö Municipality's newest secondary school. We opened our doors in August 2024, and as the school is now growing, we are looking for more educators who want to work with us. This academic year, we have 12 classes, but for the next academic year, we will expand with an additional 3 classes. When fully built out, we will have about 400 students at the school, distributed across 5 classes in each grade.

We work to provide students with good learning environments with the student's best interests in focus. We help each other find solutions that benefit the students and help them develop, both socially and academically.

The school's student health team, consisting of school management, special teachers, school nurses, counselors, career advisors, and student coordinators, meets every week. We work to create safe and trusting relationships with a good study environment so that all our students can develop as far as possible based on the educational goals. The school also has an attendance team and a safety team that meets every other week to follow up on attendance for all students, work on safety initiatives, analyze results from school surveys, and work on values-based work in the classrooms. These are important pieces that positively affect students' results.

We value good communication between school and home. From the school, we want to offer all guardians a good insight into and a good collaboration regarding the students' school situation. It is important to us that parents feel that their children's education is significant for the future, which is a success factor for them to succeed in school.

We are looking for someone who wants to continue developing Hagavik School into a pleasant workplace for both students and staff. As we are expanding with 3 classes in the fall, we will need several different subject combinations (Swedish, English, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Social Studies). We will also continue our work with co-teaching, especially in Swedish and Mathematics. You will be a mentor together with another colleague for students in one of the school's classes.

The positions' employment rate is 80-100%, varying depending on your qualifications and preferences.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with qualifications to teach in secondary school in one or more of the subjects Swedish, English, Mathematics, Science, Technology, and Social Studies. We would like you to have experience with similar tasks. Please specify in your application which subjects you are qualified to teach.

The position suits you who are attentive, flexible, have good collaboration skills, and a positive view of students. We place great importance on your personal qualities and value the ability to meet students based on their varying needs.

• find it easy to communicate in both speech and writing and are comfortable making new contacts and building relationships. You have good collaboration skills, a positive willingness to develop the operations, you can see opportunities and work independently, as well as take your own initiatives.
• have a conscious thought about your role as an educator and are a clear leader in the classroom who works structured according to applicable governing documents.
• create a safe learning environment in the classroom characterized by a good study atmosphere and a trusting climate.
• are innovative and find teaching methods that suit each student's learning style, which also develops the students, the operations, and yourself.

As a teacher with us, you are also expected to be involved in collegial learning, and it is important that you enjoy collaborating with others, both with subject colleagues and with other colleagues in the work team, student health, or staff at the youth center.
