About the role

As a teacher in cooking and restaurant at Astar, you will teach adult students both practically and theoretically in courses within the high school program for restaurant and food. You will lead the instruction based on the Astar model, where clear steps, controlled understanding, and structured guidance create the best possible conditions for students' learning, security, and professional development.

You will plan and carry out teacher-led instruction that provides students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to work professionally in kitchens/restaurants and food. This means alternating practical moments with theoretical presentations to create high quality and clear progression in the education.

The role also includes actively sourcing, matching, and following up on internship placements for students. You will build good relationships with businesses in areas such as restaurants, large kitchens, and hotels to ensure relevant, safe, and developing practical environments. From the start of the education, you will work closely with the labor market and support students on their path to work, further studies, and professional identity.

We are looking for someone who has

· at least 5 years of experience as a chef in restaurants or large kitchens

· previous experience in teaching and internships

It is highly meritorious if you are a trained vocational teacher in this field.
