Värmdö is the meeting place of the archipelago with a unique combination of the tranquil beauty of nature and a more urban lifestyle. Our mission is not one but many: schools, properties, social services, harbors, healthcare, libraries, care, and many more. We strive to ensure that all Värmdö residents can live a rich and free life. We want to be the ones who enable the dream of a vibrant and secure environment for home, family, and businesses.
To succeed fully, we must have many and extensive competencies and work together for a common and trusting work culture, built on brave, responsible employees who understand the needs and wishes of the residents.
Social Worker for Family Care with Favorable Work-Life Balance – Experience a Meaningful Job in Less Than 5 Days a Week!
Since January 2024, we at Värmdö Municipality have implemented a project where we schedule working hours so that you as a social worker work every 7th Friday during the period 2024-2026.
You will be off on the other Fridays. The unit consists of social workers divided into the groups of investigation and intervention, family care, and family law, led by four group leaders and a unit manager. We are now looking for a committed and experienced child social worker for family care.
Your main task as a child social worker is to follow up on the care of the placed child, through monitoring of school attendance, health, and the child's well-being. This primarily takes place through home visits in foster homes, individual conversations with the placed child, and discussions with the guardians. The child social worker also has the main contact with the child's parents and network. The role includes independently managing and following up on a number of your own cases. Your team colleague, the foster care social worker, investigates, follows up, supports, and guides foster homes. The work is led by a group leader for close support in the work, and external supervision is offered.
The family care group describes itself as a bouquet of different personalities that get along well, are flexible, and have an open atmosphere, where they enjoy taking a walk together around our beautiful nearby lake during lunch.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A degree in social work
- At least 2 years of experience working with children and youth in social services (authority exercise).
- A driver's license is required as travel occurs in the position.
- Good administrative skills to express yourself well in speech and writing.
- It is an advantage if you have previous experience working in foster care.
To succeed in the role, you are flexible and have the ability to create trusting relationships. As a person, we are looking for someone who is positive and solution-focused. You have a strong drive to do what is best for those we serve and for the organization as a whole, and you appreciate the varying pace that the work entails. You dare to think outside the box and want to contribute to the development work of the organization. We place great importance on your personal suitability for the position.
In Värmdö Municipality, we offer, in addition to scheduling for free Fridays, a range of benefits such as bright and nice premises, free staff parking, and close leadership. We also offer a generous wellness allowance, SL card against net salary deduction, and vacation exchange for extra days off. You can easily and conveniently commute to us in 30 minutes by direct bus from Slussen, which runs every 10 minutes. If you choose to drive instead, the same distance takes about 20 minutes. We also actively work to create health-promoting workplaces with a good work environment and apply a smoke-free working time.
We value the qualities that diversity brings to the organization and therefore welcome applicants with different backgrounds, life experiences, and gender identities for the position.
The employment is a permanent position and is full-time. Start date according to agreement or as soon as possible. Recruitment will occur continuously during the recruitment period.
