The preventive and early support for families is highly prioritized. We are undergoing a transformation towards a more accessible, preventive, and experience- and knowledge-based social service. Our work is based on a prevention science and system-oriented foundation focusing on risk and protective factors.
We are now looking for an engaged and relationship-building family therapist
to our school social team (SST) within the first-line area. The area consists of four units and is part of the department for preventive and promotional work. The team is currently organized directly under the area manager and is led together with unit managers.

The working hours are during the day, Monday to Friday. Some evening work may occur within the framework of flexible hours, for example, in connection with parenting support groups or to meet families' needs outside office hours. We strive to avoid meeting students during school hours.

Your role
The target group is children with repeated or long-term absence from school. The interventions occur without prior assistance assessment and are designed together with children, guardians, and schools. The goal is to strengthen the child's school attendance and increase goal fulfillment.
As a family therapist, you are part of the school social team formed around each individual child. The work is based on a system-theoretical foundation and encompasses the entire network around the child, where family, school, and other actors collaborate.
Your responsibilities include:
- Conducting motivating and supportive work with children and their guardians
- Collaborating closely with schools and their student health teams
- Implementing interventions in the child's natural environment such as at home and school
- Contributing to method development and collegial learning within the team
- Leading parenting support groups during the day and evening
We prioritize and further develop the coordinated early support. You will become part of an established and well-functioning collaboration with the district's primary schools, aimed at strengthening school attendance and creating better conditions for children's learning and development. You will be an important addition that enables us to further strengthen our work with school attendance.
As part of the ongoing transformation, focusing on a more coordinated and knowledge-based early support, the following development areas are particularly prioritized:
- Making the child visible and strengthening the child's participation in the interventions provided
- Systematically following up on whether the interventions have had the intended effect on the child's life situation, with a particular focus on school attendance and knowledge development
- Ensuring that support and interventions are directed where the needs are greatest
Your competence and experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- A degree in social work or a university education deemed equivalent by the employer
- Experience in motivational work and family-supporting interventions
- Good knowledge of prevention science and a systemic approach
- Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
It is also meritorious if you have:
- Competencies in parenting support programs
- Experience in authority exercise and/or treatment regarding children and youth

You work independently, structured, and with a good ability to drive your work forward within the framework of the municipal assignment. At the same time, you are flexible and easily adapt when circumstances change.
